Today was a rough day. We began trying to find our way out of Pamplona. We finally found our way, and headed out. The heat started early, and it was roasting.
After a stop for breakfast 2 hours in, we attacked the Alto de Perdon. This was an extremely difficult climb up what seemed to be goat trails. I was terribly overheated. I found a small fountain in the middle of the trail, and some much needed shade. Two sweet Spanish men moved over and gave me a spot in theccx S shade. I must have looked pretty bad, because one immediately jumped up and gave me raisins and offered cold tea. So wonderful.
I finally made it up the hill, and what a reward! There were the metal statues of the pilgrims.

After spend about 30 minutes enjoying the view a recuperating, it was time to go down the other side of the hill. Talk about a goat trail!!!! This was so treacherous. It took me a really long time to get down, and the longer it took, the hotter it got.
I finally arrived at a small town, and crawled into the bar. I downed two Aquarius, and ate a slice of watermelon. While I was there, Belle from the SoCal APOC group arrived, and we sat for a bit chatting. Then it was time to head to Puente la Reina.
By the time I finally made it, I had been on the road in 105° heat for 11 hours. That about did me in.
