July 7, 2019 Belorado to Burgos

The day began with meeting the Dutch and German teachers and Boris from Slovenia as we waited for the bus. The ride to Burgos took about an hour, and it was a very nice ride.

Once I arrived, Christian, the Ditch teacher, and I walked into the old city. I was immediately presented with the cathedral. It is breathtaking. I had some coffee, and then checked into my pension.

This place is beautiful. Getting in is a little sketchy, inside a very old door and up some word stone stairs, and then is paradise. The room is immaculate, private, and for the first time since I left home, I have a private bathroom. I’m in heaven.

After depositing my pack, I went about visiting the four churches. Each of the smaller 3 are beautiful and interesting. Then there is the cathedral. It is magnificent. Only a small part is now used as a church while the rest is an incredible museum.

I took a ton of pictures on my camera. There are over 21 small chapels within the cathedral, not including the main worship area. It is incredible. It is here where the famous El CID and his wife are buried. Just wonderful.

I will be staying here tomorrow. I will see the palace tomorrow and continue to rest my knee, which is really giving me fits. I’m just enjoying the room, the balcony, oh yes, and the bathroom!!!!
