This was definitly the hardest walk I have ever done. Only 9 miles, but straight uphill. Add to that the altitude, just insane. I freely admit I was ready to tap out, but I didn’t. I made it in about 4.5 hours.

When I left SJPP, it was cold and drizzly. Coming up the mountain, I went through the clouds. Just incredible scenery. I must admit the best scenery was the hostel at Orisson. It came at just the right time.
I spoke to many people as they passed me. I was very slow because I couldn’t breathe. One lady that caught up with me and walked with me for awhile is from…COVINA!!!! She teaches at a local middle school. That is so hard to believe. We stopped for coffee at Hutto, and went on. Eventually i knew I was having trouble so I sent her on. She was waiting for me when I got to Orisson.

We are rooming together with a bunch of French people. This is coed facility. We will all be snoring shortly.
This place is so breathtaking. We have a view of the whole valley. Our firm is under the deck, but there is no diminishing the view. There is a clothesline right outside the door, and mu socks and shirt are proudly flying in the breeze.

The community dinner was very tasty, and I sat next to Marie from Quebec. She is such a sweet lady. We made plans for leaving around 5:50 tomorrow for the climb over the Pyrenees. Here’s to praying I make it.
